John D. Wooldridge, DVM
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons
Dr. Wooldridge attended veterinary school at Atlantic Veterinary College of the University of Prince Edward Island, before completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, and then a residency in small animal surgery at the University of California, Davis. He became board certified as a specialist in small animal surgery by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2001. Dr. Wooldridge founded Veterinary Surgery & Orthopedics in 2009, following almost ten years as a staff surgeon at Northwest Veterinary Specialists. His professional interests span both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, including oncologic (cancer) surgery, hepatobiliary and urinary system surgery, fracture repair, cranial cruciate ligament disease, patellar luxation, and the relationship of limb alignment to common orthopedic problems.
Certified Veterinary Technicians/Nurses
Our certified technicians share extensive training and experience in specialized surgical nursing, and in advanced anesthesia and pain management. They receive continuing education to maintain our services at the highest level, and are involved with all aspects of your pet's care from the initial consultation, to recovery and post-operative follow-up.
Office Hours
VSO is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Consultation and surgery are by appointment only. Please call to schedule, or e-mail us with scheduling questions. VSO shares the same building and front office staff as The Allergy and Dermatology Veterinary Referral Center; our front desk staff is available Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm to schedule appointments. Both VSO and ADVRC are closed Fridays, weekends, and major holidays. Our post-operative patients are discharged with complete care instructions and access to our after-hours nursing support/advice team.
